The 1st Bid - Road Improvement Project, North Side of the Sation (Route 1: the new construction of the Xinhuweixi Bridge;  Route 2: Zhongzheng Bridge reconstruction project)

This project is to provide passengers with convenient transportation services to the high-speed railway station area in conjunction with the Yunlin high-speed railway. It connects the whole transportation roads in series, accommodates the increasing traffic demand, builds a new bridge over Xinhuwei River, and handles the reconstruction of the original Zhongzheng Bridge.

The design of Xinhuweixi Bridge (Yunguang Bridge) is extradosed bridge style, composed of pre-stressed concrete box beam and 11 pairs of external pre-stressed steel cables. The foundation is pile foundation and the middle bridge pier are located in the center of the Xinhuwei River. It is 174 meters long. The central modeling bridge is a SRC structure with an external GRC modeling pylon and a height of 30 meters. It is designed according to local characteristics. The lighting is projected by environmentally friendly LED lights. After completion, it is one of the adjacent landmarks around Yunlin High Speed Rail Station, across the Xinhuweixi Bridge (Yunguang Bridge) to the north of Erlun Township, which reduces the travel time of passengers’.

The original Zhongzheng Bridge was rebuilt in September 1978, the bridge has been used for nearly 40 years. The bridge structure and bearing capacity have not been able to meet the needs of the current situation. The Zhongzheng Bridge is 112 meters long. It is a three-story, 4-box steel box girder bridge. The foundation of the Zhongzheng Bridge is based on a pile foundation. The overall planned road length is about 200 meters. During the construction, the second stage construction will be carried out to maintain the current traffic. After the reconstruction of Zhongzheng Bridge, in addition to improving the bearing capacity of the bridge, the road width is also widened from the original 9.65 meters to 19 meters. It connects to the north along the County Hwy 145 to reach Xiluo Town, improving the safety of passengers.

After the completion of the project, it will provide complete transportation services for townships and villages, and provide a safer road for travellers to enhance the prosperity of local areas.
